Current Favourites

You guys have heard me rave about skincare, makeup, and fashion countless times on my YouTube channel in the past. Well, after looking back I noticed that the last time I shared my favourites with you guys was over two years ago. Evidently a bunch of you guys miss those days (as do I) because one of the most common messages that I receive is "what have you been loving lately". *Sigh* I really do miss sharing my current obsessions with you guys- primarily in video form, but hey a blog post works (for now) too. All of the products/items shown above I haven't been able to get enough of- not just lately but the last few months as you may have seen most of them all over my snaps. These are also products that I continuously replace or keep on hand because they've turned into essentials for me.

Tartelette 2 In Bloom Clay Eyeshadow Palette

THIS palette right here is a win in SO many ways. First of all, can we just appreciate the packaging. If I were to ever create anything makeup related it would have this colour scheme (pink and purple are my favourite colours). Secondly, it's such a compact palette that it's great to travel with. If I don't have my Lorac Pro palette on hand, I can assure you that this is what's sitting on my washroom counter. Lastly, look at the eyeshadow shades in the palette itself. I have brown eyes (more on the lighter side) and my friends have blue and green eyes. I have been using this palette non-stop on myself and my friends, especially when we go out. I'm a sucker for a brown smokey eye and it's so easy to achieve with this palette (I already filmed a night out makeup tutorial, which you'll be seeing very soon on my youtube channel). There's very little-to-no fallout and the shades are super rich and creamy, which makes blending a walk in the park. Also, the colour payoff of each eyeshadow is thick, so a little goes a long way. The colours in this palette are so versatile- it's easy to achieve a more subtle shimmery daytime look and transition that into a smokey brown eye for a night out with the girls. I can't rave enough about this palette, get it and thank me later!

You may have seen me talking about this powder in a video before (here) and I'm bringing it back to your attention because it's simply amazing. If I'm going for a simple "no makeup" makeup look, I use this powder to set a light layer of foundation. Even if it's a full coverage look, which I typically do on a night out this is the powder I use to set my foundation and also, throw it into my purse for touch-ups. It provides incredible coverage and makes your makeup last all day (or night) long. It seriously makes you look flawless! It's compact and will last you a long time. Try it out if you haven't already!

Here's my all time favourite lip gloss. If I could ever recommend one shade/brand that would work on everyone, it would be this baby right here. White Russian is a nude pink, which in my opinion is a universal shade for all skin tones. It provides a glossy finish along with a tingly sensation to help plump up your lips. Added bonus: it contains vitamins A and E to keep your lips soft and protected.

Sephora Ultra Shine Lip Gel- 04 Perfect Nude

This lipgloss has been my go-to recently paired on top of a nude lipstick (it's been MAC Velvet Teddy lately for me). I love a good matte lip but I've been steering clear of that until fall is in full effect next month. During this past summer I've found myself turning to glossy lip shades/products left and right. This is a classic nude that provides a light-reflecting, plumped shine. It's super light, non-sticky, and hydrating. Absolutely no cons here with this lipgloss!

Soap and Glory The Righteous Butter

I have always been a sucker for Bath & Body Works ultra-shea moisturizers, up until I discovered this body butter above. I've been using this non-stop since I first discovered it almost a year ago. At the time it also came in a Diamond edition, which has flecks of sparkles in it. I LOVED IT SO MUCH (I believe it was only limited edition)! I also have the normal one (as shown above), which is just as amazing. It's super moisturizing and leaves your skin as soft as a baby's. Additionally, it's scent is unique and contains rose, jasmine, peach, strawberry, and soft musk (just to name a few) notes. All in all, it has a fresh scent and leaves your skin glowing. It moisturizes even the most stubborn dry skin! Tip: apply it all over your body as soon as you get out of the shower.

Old Navy Mid-rise Raw-Edge Rockstar Jeans

I have never received more questions about where my jeans are from than when I've worn this pair right here. On top of that, no one ever believes me when I say I purchased them from Old Navy. Seriously! Undoubtedly, these are my favourite pair and what I'm sure you guys have been sick of seeing all over my snaps haha. They're actually the first pair of jeans that I've purchased from Old Navy. First of all, they're super affordable and paired with a coupon from Old Navy (sign up for their emails), they become even cheaper. I even went back and bought a second pair, I love them that much! They're form fitting, super comfortable (even on days when you're feeling bloated), and have distressed detailing for that lived-in look.

Alright, I'm sure you guys have seen these on everyone everywhere you go. That's simply because they're ridiculously stylish and comfortable. I kid you not! I slip them on and pair them with leggings, jeans, and even dresses on a night out for a more casual look. My first pair is worn out from me wearing them non-stop over the last few months, that I'll now be purchasing my second pair. Also, they run a bit big so order 0.5-1 size smaller than your usual. The link that I've provided above is the cheapest that I can find them online for you guys (and myself!). Added bonus: they're super cute and fit all Instagram aesthetics (I can't believe I just said that lol!).

Kate Spade Carsen Laurel Way Crossbody- Black

My sisters and I each got one of these Kate Spade crossbody purses over the summer. It happens to be a lot cheaper on Amazon right now than what we purchased them for. I know I've mentioned before that I'm not crazy about brand name or designer purses and I still stand by that. That doesn't mean I won't purchase any in the future, especially if a bag catches my eye. I can truly appreciate a great design and durable material! This isn't my first Kate Spade purse and most definitely not my last. This crossbody is a perfect on the go purse and it's spacious enough to hold my wallet, iPhone, lipgloss, charger, passport (if needed), and other essentials. It has a front open slip compartment, a large open main compartment with zipper pocket, button closure, and 14-karat light gold detailing. In my opinion, you can never go wrong with black and gold!

Milk & Honey- By Rupi Kaur

I finally got around to reading this remarkable work of art by Rupi Kaur. I simply can't speak highly enough of her writing! She writes about heartache, life, disappointments, and healing. I can assure you this book will resonate with you in one way or another. Her writing speaks to you in ways very few can. It'll make you relive the joys and sorrows you've experienced in the past.  The poems are complex and profound, yet somehow deeply personal in a different way to each reader.

Sephora The Natural Citrus Brush Cleaner

THIS has saved my life on numerous occasions! Alright, maybe that was a little dramatic but I'm sure you understand just how much I love this product. I despise cleaning my makeup brushes. It's one extra thing that I need to do and quite frankly, that I don't want to have to do. Regardless, in order to prevent future breakouts you should be cleaning your brushes regularly and ridding them of all the bacteria they collect. This brush cleaner has a relatively strong, yet pleasant citrus scent that will leave your friends asking what freshener you've sprayed in your place when they come over. Additionally, it's lightweight and manages to clean your brushes better than any other formula I've come across. How to: simply spray a couple spritz of this onto a clean/dry paper towel and rub your dirty makeup brush on top of that area. You brush will be clean and dry within minutes, which is an additional perk if you have a limited number of brushes and you're going to be using a multitude of them on a given day/night. The bottle itself lasts at least a couple months and is super affordable sitting at less than $12. Added bonus: it can be used to clean the toughest makeup stains off of your clothes!

Marblefy Banana Leaf iPhone Case

Banana leafs galore (need I say more?)! How cute is this phone case? I'm in love! It fits perfectly on my iPhone and the design itself reminds me of the summer. The print is great quality and not pixelated like most printed phone cases tend to be. It's a matte finish, which can leave it feeling a tiny bit slippery (on the back/printed side) but the sides of the case itself have a secure grip. It has a raised bumper lip, which protects the screen. Also, it tends to make every picture with it Insta-worthy! It's a great price too at just under $17!

Day Designer Midyear 2017 Flagship Palm Planner

Clearly, a theme in my life recently has been leaves- banana and palm tree. You guys will hear me talk all about this planner in the very next video on my channel, but for the time being just know that I've been obsessed with my Day Designer planner. It provides ample space for my daily schedule and for me to journal as well. It's durable and has a super cute eye-catching design.

Light Is The New Black- Rebecca Campbell

This book has been sitting on my nightstand for far too long. I tend to purchase books and place them around my place, but read them whenever I remember and have absolutely nothing else to do (which is rare). Having said that, I really do enjoy reading (when I have the time for it). I've been trying to make a more conscious effort to read as much as I can lately, instead of turning on the tv to be bombarded with negativity all over the news. I finally picked this book up off of my night stand and couldn't put it down. I would recommend this book to anyone who is embarking on a spiritual journey. I've been spending this entire year focusing on self-love after a particularly rough last year. This book has helped me with integrating, journalling, and reflecting on my light and my shadows. It's an uplifting, reflective and bright read.

H&M Boyfriend Low Ripped Jeans

Who doesn't love a good boyfriend fit?! I may not have a boyfriend but I certainly have a great collection of boyfriend shirts and jeans. These jeans are to die for! They're heavily distressed, loose-fitting yet fit enough to sit comfortably on your hips, and light-wash. Generally speaking, I've been wearing these on the weekends paired with an oversized/boyfriend fit neutral (white or black) t-shirt, my Adidas superstars, and dainty gold jewelry. It exemplifies the effortless-chic look!

Women's Satin Kimono/Silky Robe

If you've ever watched any of my snaps then you've probably seen me in this kimono/robe. The one that I have is from AdoreMe (not available anymore), however the link I've provided above is for the exact same one from Amazon, which has great reviews, a much larger colour range, and is significantly cheaper. It's comfortable, has a silky satin smooth feeling, and is elegant at the same time. I have the red and royal blue shades (for now). I live in mine way too much haha!

Tree Hut Lychee and Plum Shea Sugar Scrub

I'll admit I can easily DIY a great body scrub for myself at home, but let's be real I'm too lazy to do that. I've been using the Tree Hut body scrubs for years now and they're what I swear by to help exfoliate my skin. Typically, I'll use this all over my body, especially on my legs before shaving to help prevent ingrown hairs, while leaving my skin silky smooth. It's remarkably moisturizing and provides intense exfoliation. The company has a wide range of flavours/types, but this lychee and plum shea sugar scrub has been my favourite all summer long.

L'Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara

L'Oreal is my favourite drugstore mascara brand. I've been a sucker for the L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara for years now. I decided to try the new Lash Paradise Mascara ($9.99) because I've heard rave reviews about it, with many people comparing it to the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara ($23)- in packaging and quality. In my opinion, the L'Oreal mascara is definitely a dupe for the Too Faced one. It lengthens, separates,  adds volume, doesn't clump, and holds the curl of my natural lashes (even with just one coat!). Try it out if you haven't already!

MantraBand "Soul Sisters" Cuff

I recently discovered these MantraBands and I can't get enough of them. My skin's undertones are more yellow based, hence why gold jewelry looks best on me. I love dainty, simple gold jewelry. These bracelets can easily be gifted to your friends or family with sweet affirmations engraved on them. It's stainless steel and 18-karat gold plated. They're affordable and make a great gift for loved ones.

That sums up my favourites, especially from this past summer. Hopefully you guys found my descriptions of each helpful. I'm sure I'll have plenty more to share with you next month! Let me know what you've been obsessing over down below in the comments. Have a great weekend!

Much love, xo
