New Skincare MUST-HAVES

As many of you know, I'm OBSESSED with using coconut oil for pretty much everything! I've been using it for well over a year now, especially on my skin and it has helped with improving my skin's condition (cystic acne) drastically. I like using products containing natural ingredients or creating DIY masks in my own kitchen. I decided to venture out a bit with changing my skin care routine and the products that I use. I still swear by the masks (DIY acne mask + fading treatment) that I featured on my channel and will always turn to them (if need be). However, I've been obsessing over new products lately and couldn't wait to share them all with you! You can press on the name of the product, which will take you directly to a link of where you can purchase the product yourself. The video related to this post will be attached at the bottom and feel free to watch it if you'd like a more personal explanation from yours truly :)

LUSH
1. Ocean Salt

When do I use it:

As a morning facial cleanser. I splash water on my face then scoop a finger full of the product into my palm. I exfoliate my skin in an upward circular motion starting from my neck.

Why do I like it so much:

I absolutely love this Ocean Salt facial scrub because its smell (and taste!) wakes me up first thing in the morning. It leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft and clean. On top of that, my skin is left visibly brighter! It contains sea salt, fresh coconut and avocado, lime, and vodka (just to mention a few of the ingredients). Additionally, you can use the product on other areas of your body, which I like to do once a week in the shower- including your chest, arms, and back.

**Side note: it stings in any irritated areas, such as active acne, and anyone with sensitive skin. If you have either of those skin conditions then I would recommend going for a more sensitive cleanser from Lush (if this one stings too much for you).

2. Dark Angels

When do I use it:

Everyday in the shower. I use it on my face, neck, and upper chest.

Why do I like it so much:

I first came across this product after I saw Michelle Phan post a picture of it on her Instagram account. I instantly became fascinated! It contains black sugar and charcoal to gently exfoliate your skin while getting rid of excess oil. My skin is left feeling matte, brighter, and fresh, which I'm absolutely in love with! It smells like licorice mixed with soil- I know it sounds so weird but I promise you it's very refreshing (I'm obsessed with it!). I would recommend this cleanser for anyone with oily skin or acne-prone skin.

3. Mask of Magnamity

When do I use it:

2x a week. It takes 10 minutes max!

Why do I like it so much:

I'm all about natural face masks, if you haven't noticed from my YouTube channel! This mask is to die for! In all honesty, I credit no new breakouts to this bad boy here. It's made of China clay and peppermint, which smells and feels very refreshing. It actually makes my skin tingle! It's an ultimate face mask, hence it's name- it's intense yet not too harsh or abrasive on your skin. You can use this on your face, neck and even on your back if you suffer from breakouts in those areas. If you could walk out of Lush with only one product I would HIGHLY recommend this baby!

SEPHORA
1. Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil Light

When do I use it:

Every night before bed as an overnight facial moisturizer.

Why do I like it so much:

My skin has tended to be more on the oily side for the majority of my life. After the success of coconut oil use on my skin and hearing people rave about argan oil, I thought I'd give it a shot. This is a lighter version of Josie Maran's original 100% argan oil. I would recommend the lighter version for anyone that has oily skin, like myself. If you have dry skin then definitely go for the original form. My skin has the healthiest glow that it has ever had since using this product. I kid you not! I wake up in the morning and can't believe how fresh my face looks. It gives your skin a radiant glow that I've been unable to achieve with any other product that I've used before (and I've used MANY!). If you haven't jumped on the facial oil bandwagon then I would HIGHLY suggest doing so with this product! It's a game changer :)

2. ORIGINS GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream

When do I use it:

Every night before bed as an eye cream.

Why do I like it so much:

I've recently been looking into products that will reduce the dark circles and puffiness that I've been experiencing from a lack of sleep. I know, I know- I'm 26 and should already be looking into products like this. It doesn't look like there's a lot of product in the container but I promise it's basically a lifetime supply. You need a VERY tiny amount of the product applied to above/below your eye and it works wonders. It contains caffeine, ginseng, and optic brighteners.

**Side note: I use this at night instead of in the morning because I found that the product runs down your eyelids at times and can seep into your eyeball causing a bit of stinging throughout the day. If you want to use it in the morning then place it higher up on your eyelid especially if you tend to have oily eyelids.

3. OLE HENRIKSEN Truth Serum Vitamin C Collagen Booster

When do I use it:

Every morning after cleansing my face.

Why do I like it so much:

This product has been selling out across Sephora shelves, which is why I felt like I had to give it a try. It's an antioxidant-rich formula containing vitamin C, which helps with natural collagen production, reduces fine lines, and brightens skin. It's a must have for anyone looking to get a healthy glow and protected skin. The citrus scent is beyond stimulating! The formula is lightweight and oil-free that immediately absorbs into the skin. The only defect with the product itself is the packaging. Sometimes too much of the product can come out of the dispenser and if you try to apply it all to your skin, it can lead to a bit of stickiness (due to the excess amount being applied). Otherwise, I adore this product and find that my skin doesn't appear or feel the same if I forget to use it.

DRUGSTORE
1. Simple Soothing Facial Toner

When do I use it:

Every morning and night after cleansing my face (before any serum application).

Why do I like it so much:

In all honesty, I've never used a toner before. If there's one toner that I've heard a TON about then it's this one by Simple. It's very lightweight and I'd like to think it's doing the job. I'm going to keep it real with all of you in saying that I don't notice a difference in my skin with or without using this product. I'll continue to use this for a couple months and let you know my thoughts then. In the meantime, I'll continue to keep this toner part of my skin care regimen.

2. Benzagel Acne/Facial Wash

When do I use it:

Only as needed (if I can feel/see an active breakout then I'll wash my face with this once a day- morning or night).

Why do I like it so much:

This cleanser is amazing! I wish I knew of it before! My skin doesn't react well to salicylic acid at all. I'm pretty sure I'm allergic to the ingredient! However, benzoyl peroxide is a whole different story for my skin. Whenever I feel/see an active breakout then I'll simply wash my face with this product once a day (morning or night) for at least 2-3 days and the pimple doesn't come through to the surface of my skin at all. It's crazy how effectively this product works for me! If you're considering using it, be careful though! It can cause dryness and irritation if used more frequently than I do.

Much love, xo
